Top Story of 2007

Kudos to the Press Enterprise for their ongoing investigative reports that are exposing the connection of public servants and Dan Stephenson of Rancon. The story began on December 2, 2007 with a huge Sunday edition expose containing "County Supervisor's Super Deals", "Cashing In On Growth" and "Timeline of Temecula development" authored by David Danielski with contributions from staff writer Kimberly Trone. David Danielski and Jeff Horseman continued the expose with "Temecula councilman's vote on 2003 city land deal helpful for his client", published on December 21, 2007.

Remember, Dan Stephenson raised a half million dollars to oppose the Recall of three Murrieta councilmen. His draconian protection plan was aided by Kevin Jeffries' acceptance of Stephenson's offer to support his campaign for State Assembly conditional on Jeffries' authorization of Riverside Republican Party opposition to the Recall. According to Stephenson, he told Jeffries, "if you do this for us, I will support your campaign". When taken together with the investigative reports published by the Press Enterprise in connection with Temecula elected officials and Supervisor Stone, it is clear that a case of election racketeering needs to be investigated by the District Attorney and at the federal level.

Contact District Attorney Pacheco and request an investigation by his department. The District Attorney has a countywide problem to explore considering that Vick Knight, elected to the Riverside County Board of Education in March 2004, escaped a State election's audit because, according to the Registrar of Voters office, he has no financial reports on file. Interesting since he won the endorsement and $1,000 contribution from the Lake Elsinore Teachers Union and numerous campaign pieces were mailed to voters.

If DA Pacheco can't link one piece of fraud to any of these elected officials then he needs to level the playing field with a "how to" book for the benefit of all the future candidates in Riverside County.

The Bugle website link "Top Story of 2007" has posted the preponderance of evidence of election fraud in Riverside County. Press Enterprise archived articles are viewed at www.pe.com

With Nancy Knight (Editor) continuing her attacks on EVERYONE she has ever lost an election to, it would help if she would also at least attempt to present the facts or obtain other sources of information. An example of which is her story about GOP Chairman Jeffries opposing the recall in Murrieta. What she fails to mention is that the County GOP Chairman CANNOT vote (except to break a tie). Because the membership voted and it was NOT a tie, He (Jeffries) NEVER did get to vote!! But that fact does not sell newspapers for Nancy.

Anonymous is apparently suffering from a delusion about the integrity of the Riverside Republican Party under Jeffries leadership. The local clubs are not honorable nor do they play by the rules as all long-time Republicans would have expected, including myself. The FACTS are that Dan Stephenson admitted that it took four phone calls to Jeffries before he agreed to take the "bribe" (not Dan's words but mine). In my interview with Dan he said, "do you think it was a bribe?" Secondly, as a long-time Republican, when I got the letter signed by Dave Everett proclaiming the Riverside Republican Party opposed the Recall, I immediately emailed Jeffries who said he knew nothing about it and asked me to fax him a copy of the mailpiece. Then came the night of the Murrieta Recall election with Rescue Murrieta observers surprised to see Kevin Jeffries and Tom Rogers at the Registrar of Voters office late at night watching the results. I approached both of them and asked Jeffries what they were going to do about Dave Everett. Jeffries kept up the charade of innocence and they (Tom Rogers and Jeffries) told the story of how Everett was young and Stephenson's consultants had pressured him into signing the letter. Furthermore Jeffries said, employee matters are private and "I can't tell you what we decide to do in Executive session". Dan Stephenson apparently did not know how cowardly Jeffries was and sent a letter of invitation for a fundraising event at his home to reward Jeffries for having the courage to do what no other Republican had ever done. Just goes to show you how low the Party has gone. Republicans do not oppose non-partisan races and all of the successor candidates were Republicans. The honor and integrity of the GOP continues to erode with men like Jeffries gaining access to public office.

In response to earlier anonymous comments, It appears that EVERYONE she has ever lost elections to are tied to CROOKS or are crooks themselves. So shedding light on their wrong doing should not get us upset, but should make us THINK the next time we vote.

And as far as I can tell, Nancy's newspaper is free to the community it arrives to my house free every month, if you lived in the community you would know that. So you must either be a good ol boy in the network of crooks who do not live in our community or another uninformed wanabe suckling at the teet of government and crooks. Do not try to pull the wool over our eyes some of us are smarter than that.

Kudos to Nancy. The ethics codes of the written word in journalism requires a journalist to either write a withtraction or correction AND/OR BOTH if a fact is wrong. Since there are neither in print about the shrewd and well planned billionaire money accomplishments of Dan, you know that her statements are true. Ever hear of the words lawsuits? I don't believe I've ever heard of her being "silenced".
Writing the truth when it is unpopular takes great spirit and courage.

Hey,the truth hurts. But the days of hiding behind the curtain is coming to a quick end for our elected officials, because they are being watched real close.
Also it's not about spirit and courage,it's about doing the right thing,We the people need to make a difference, not when it is too late, but now that we can.Stand up and deliver, citizens of SW Riverside County.Let's show these people that if we put them in office,we can get them out as well.We are not run by a communist system.

As a surrogate mother, twice over, I have watched the little peanuts grow in a petri dish. I watched them go from 2 cells to more than I can count. Is that when life began? I'm not God... I don't know... but I do know that it is only by the grace of God that such a miracle can happen. I will say, though, that once the heart beats and the brain waves start, which is at 6 weeks pregnant, before you even know you're pregos, it's a life. period.
